No, the title isn't a joke punch line isn't an oxymoron. As bad as the real estate market has been in Florida, there are certainly bright spots on the horizon. The trick is knowing where to look and acknowledge one when you find it.

For example, throughout the State, real estate prices are painfully low. In the last year alone, prices have fallen even more, and the median price of an existing home is currently about $126,000. It is certainly bad news if you own a home in Florida. However, we do not focus on the negatives. We are here to extract the good news.

Inventory levels are high. You probably already knew. But, did you know that this high inventory means an excellent selection on all price points, as well as prices lower? Think of your favorite store. When they are overloaded, they drop the price and make a sale. The situation in Florida estate is similar. There are too many homes on the market and the sale is on.

Mortgage rates are at historically low levels. In fact, they are at levels not seen since the beginning of the 1960s. No doubt, you have heard barely qualify for a mortgage loan. While the mortgage rate, it becomes progressively easier to qualify for a loan.

In addition, as a buyer, you can get much more House for your money with lower rates.

Incentives are available to buyers through State and local housing programs. Although the credit to federal buyers ended last year, several areas of Florida have programs that help buyers... It is certainly worth the search to find programs in your area.

Florida's long-term growth prospects are good. Florida is one of the most populous States in the United States and has been one of the fastest growing in recent years.

With population growth comes from businesses and jobs with increased income levels. Indeed, these are very positive trends for the market of real estate in Florida and its economy.
