New Jersey townships support housing development Initiative

Thank author of this post/comment

Like him or not, Governor Christie in New Jersey taking steps to improve its State rather than taking measures to advance his political aspirations. The Christie administration recently announced twelve municipal partners in their special needs Housing Partnership, an initiative aimed at improving the conditions of life for people with intellectual disabilities.

In engaging more than 5 million $ in the effort, the townships of New Jersey will receive matching funds for a total of more than 10 million $. This Fund will create affordable housing opportunities in twelve communities for persons with special needs. Participating communities have agreed to provide funding because of the growing needs of residents of New Jersey with a disability.

Capped at $500,000 per dwelling, at least 20 homes can be purchased with funds from the program committed to the New Jersey housing and mortgage finance agency (MFA). The challenge for the administration of Christie was to bring various organizations and municipalities together to address these residents.

The objective of the program is to create opportunities for housing for the disabled 600 in June 2013. This will be done through purchases and convert existing in the cantons of participants to a residential. In the long term, the individuals targeted with disabilities will be successfully integrated into communities.

Safe, decent housing is essential for growth. The local partnership and the Governor's Office committed themselves to support the rights of the disabled residents and help them to live as independently as possible.

Today, the partnership has approved almost 90 skilled developers that municipalities may contract with to create the housing need. Special housing partnership must, in New Jersey is fully in favour of the Americans with Disabilities Act and works for the protection of persons with disabilities from being placed unnecessarily.

State Government and communities work together. Would it be great if the Government has always worked this well?
