New Jersey Real Estate Schools

Considering the state of real estate in the U.S., it does not seem likely many people would choose it as a career. The other side to the coin, however, is that for the past few years a large number of real estate professionals have left the ranks. As the real estate market begins to improve, there will be a pent up demand for agents and brokers.

In New Jersey, there are already signs that activity is picking up and people are starting to look for homes again. If you are interested in getting involved in the real estate business, you should be aware of several key points. First and foremost, New Jersey requires all sales people to be licensed by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission.

A real estate salesperson's license requires completion of a 75-hour training course. A broker's license requires a 90-hour course plus two 30-hour courses in office management, agency, ethics and related courses. You must attend and successfully complete these courses at a state approved training facility, or school.

The Ocean School of Real Estate conducts training at two locations. This school offers a two-week pre-licensing class in Brick, New Jersey and Egg Harbor. For people who work, evening classes are available.

The Professional School of Business, located in Millburn, also offers a variety of pre-licensing classes. The Real Estate School in Cherry Hill, offers 30 real estate courses per year. At this school, you will find pre-licensing classes for New Jersey as well as Pennsylvania licenses. Day and evening classes are also available. Broker courses are available each October with varying schedules.

Contact these schools or the Real Estate Commission for more information. There may never be a better time to enter the exciting business of real estate. Train now during slower times and be prepared when the market regains its strength. Good luck and good selling.
